Been a few days...
I suppose it's been more than just a few days. But they've been good ones. I'm at day 18 of my little cleanse/diet/reboot. I'm still not sure what to call it but am down 15.5 lbs. I'm about on track with what I saw when doing a natural food cleanse last winter. That was a 21 day thing and I lost 15.8 during that period. I lost a few more after that and stabilized around 223-225. Sadly, I was only able to stay there until mid June. Then it all came back plus 5 as an added fuck you too.
The good news is I think I'm in a better space mentally this time. I am going to continue my current approach for another month when I head out west to play golf and be an idiot for a week. Once back, I will continue where I left off. At that point I'll focus on getting to a good body fat percentage rather than numbers on a scale. Most of the things I've read say that for my age (juuuuuust a few years younger than dirt) my optimal fat range is 17-23 percent. So, I'll split the difference and target 20 percent. It'll be a while but that gives me a goal post and a healthy target to stabilize at. Once there, I plan on setting a 'red line'. One that if I hit it, I start a 7 or 10 day juice fast again. Hopefully with that line in place it'll serve as a constant reminder and I'll weigh in weekly. But again, that's long term.
For now, I'm going to press on.
This time of year is fantastic for biking into the gym and back. half hour in, work a body part or two, and back. Great way to start a morning. I feel focused, energized and calm during the day. Good stuff.
We had the first show for our little fringe event Saturday afternoon. We had a blast and Anita really killed it. She plays a character much older than she is and was really able to bring it out without using the normal gray hair wig or some other prop. It was impressive and I was really proud of her.
